The ROCK-IT project continues to draw strong interest from the scientific community, with its achievements and ongoing developments highlighted at major international events including two conferences and a workshop.

SRI 2024 - 15th International Conference on Synchrotron Radiation Instrumentation

At the SRI2024 Conference held August 26-30 in Hamburg, Germany, ROCK-IT was showcased with five posters and one talk, among numerous mentions across various presentations. The conference organized by DESY created a platform to represent the project to an audience of around 2,000 participants, highlighting the project’s progress and growing impact within the field.

  • Talks:
  • A Highly Automated Beamline for Analytical XAFS at the Future PETRA IV Storage Ring (Edmund Welter, DESY)
  • Posters:
  • The ROCK-IT Project: Towards a Holistic Workflow for Complex Operando Experiments (Mehdi Kazemi, DESY; et.al., o.b.o.t. ROCK-IT team)
  • A Highly Automated Beamline for Analytical XAFS at the Future PETRA IV Storage Ring (Edmund Welter, DESY)
  • ROCK-IT: Catalyzing Innovation with EPICS, Bluesky at BESSY II MySpot Beamline (Marcel Bajdel, HZB; et.al.)
  • Near Real-Time Analysis Pipeline for X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (Diana Rueda, DESY; et.al.)
  • ROCK-IT GUI Design for Automated and Remote-Accessed Operando Catalysis Experiments – (Zeynep Isil Isik Dursun, DESY; o.b.o.t. ROCK-IT team)

NOBUGS 14 - New Opportunities for Better User Group Software

Another major conference was the NOBUGS 14 held between 23-27 October in Grenoble, France, gathered experts from different continents. The conference organized by ILL & ESRF provided a great platform to network, get updates, and exchange ideas on user group software from different parts of the world. ROCK-IT was strongly presented with 5 posters, 1 talk, and mentions in various presentations.

ISSE - 12th International Workshop on Sample Environment at Scattering Facilities

A further international event that hosted ROCK-IT was ISSEheld between 16-20 September in Båstad, Sweden. Hosted by MAX-IV and ESS, ROCK-IT members contributed to this event with 3 talks and 2 posters:

  • Talks:
  • The Path to Fully Automised and Standardised Complex Operando Experiments: The ROCK-IT Project (Dirk Wallacher, HZB)
  • Automated Sample Handling for Enhanced Remote Access in Operando Catalysis Experiments at Synchrotron Beamlines (Shrouk Ehab, DESY)
  • Sample Environment at HZB (Klaus Kiefer, HZB)
  • Posters:
  • Development of an Automatic Sample Changer for the ROCK-IT Project (Sebastian GERISCHER, HZB)
  • Automated Gas Supply and Analysis Setup for Operando X-ray Investigations of Catalytic Processes (Gina Ruland, HZB)

The ROCK-IT team sincerely acknowledges the organizers of these events and looks forward to sharing further project developments at future scientific gatherings.
